Year To Date Recs
Apr. 18th, 2025 05:27 pmI am currently working on updating my site, https://shuddering.neocities.org with fic recs. I also have some fics marked as recs on my Booktower (which is a wonderful site if you haven't heard of it).
Here's some recs for what I've read this year:
i'm still trying to figure it out by anonymous. Hockey RPF. First time fic between Quinn and Jack Hughes. Gets right into what makes brother/brother so special, including the hesitation and "I want this but I'm so bad for it" feelings. Loved the headspace, love love loved the characterization.
the weary and the wild by mimsical. Homestuck. DirkJake fic where Jake hunts down Dirk as part of a sexual roleplay, and then experiences topdrop. Incredibly juicy, really gets into the mind of a scared sub. One of my absolute favorites this year; I made three hardbound copies of it.
Voyage of The Damned Idiots by shadedScribe. Homestuck. Based on a historical failed navy expedition. Super fun characterization, and a parrot!
if you stick with the program, maybe one day you'll be (more than a machine learning how to please) by three_dice. Homestuck. Brobot songfic, angsty and charming and really well written. Short little tidbit to sink your teeth into.
